Who We Are

Welcome to our faith family at Hope Lutheran Church, a community rooted in faith, built on service, centered in community, and guided by inclusion.

Founded in 1981 on Pentecost Sunday, our congregation began as a small but hopeful gathering of believers in the heart of Sioux Center. Surrounded by a community rich in faith traditions, we offer a distinct and welcoming Lutheran voice that embraces the grace and love of God for all people.

A Church Built on Faith

At the core of our identity is our faith in Jesus Christ. As a Lutheran congregation, we believe in God’s unconditional love and the promise of grace freely given. Our worship is shaped by Word and Sacrament, and we gather weekly to be renewed, challenged, and sent back into the world to live out our faith.

A Heart for Service

Our faith calls us into action. From work with the local food pantry and support for our larger community, to global mission efforts, we believe service is an essential expression of God’s love. We invite all members — young and old — to participate in meaningful opportunities that serve our neighbors near and far.

A Place of Community

Though we live in a small town, our community is big-hearted. We are more than a Sunday morning gathering — we are a church family who walks alongside each other through joy, sorrow, growth, and change. Whether you’ve been here for years or are new to the area, there’s a place for you here.

A Home of Inclusion

We believe that all people are made in the image of God. At Hope, we strive to be a place where all are welcome — regardless of age, background, ability, or identity. We celebrate the diversity of God’s creation and commit ourselves to listening, learning, and loving with compassion.

We invite you to join us — whether you are seeking a spiritual home, exploring questions of faith, or looking for a community where you can belong and serve. Come just as you are.

God’s grace is for everyone. And so is this church.
